The Power of Community
This year, The Bell Brand had an amazing opportunity to vend at the Podcast Summit. The Podcast Summit was a conference hosted by David Shands and Donni Wiggins of The Social Proof podcast. David and Donni use their platform to help entrepreneurs build their businesses and brands. They believe that podcasting can help grow your business, but this summit was about much more than just podcasting. It was about finding your purpose, believing in yourself, utilizing the gift that God has given you, networking, connecting, and community, all the things The Bell Brand stands for.
This event was our first vending experience, and I’m so glad we did it because we learned so much. There are things you don’t learn until you do them, so I’m glad we took the plunge.
We are big on community. Kevin and I were raised during a time when the community and village were a huge part of our upbringing. We both come from families that held annual family gatherings, lived in neighborhoods where they hosted block parties and events, and everyone on the block shared that one grandmother. We had friends whose houses were just extensions of our homes, a time when everyone helped each other.
We want to get back to that. We see how community, love, and family are not just wanted but needed more than ever, NOW.
With the Podcast Summit being our first vending experience, we dropped the ball on a few things, like decorating our table. But being in an environment with people who want to see you win and support you was exactly where we needed to be for our first time. On the first day, a few people came by our booth and left some great advice on what we should do for our future events. Anything we were able to apply the next day in real-time, we did. And boy, did it make a difference! The next day, we applied the information that was given and saw instant success. We had more sales and more people stopping by to get our information.
The Bell Brand’s experience at the Podcast Summit is a true testament to what can happen when we come together. When one moves forward, we all move forward. Now that we have had our first experience, we can take that information and share it with someone else on their first experience, just like others shared with us.
We grew up in a community, we understand the power of togetherness, and it is our mission, passion, and goal to bring that back. And we WILL.
