The Bell Brand is a gesture of receiving, symbolizing openness, gratitude, and humility in life’s journey. pt 2

Part 2: Be Humble, Sit Down

Another thing I had to remind myself: The energy that you are putting to get into these rooms, keep that same energy in bringing value to these rooms when you get there.

When you enter these rooms you should bring some sort of value to the table. You are a student, but you are a leader too. I’m on the level of knowing I deserve to be in the room, but I also understand how and why I’m not ready to be there yet. If I’m being 100% honest with myself, I have not totally given in to everything I need to do that will push me into full speed ahead. I’m still kind of dragging my feet on a lot of things. I’m definitely doing more, but there’s areas in my life that I need to tighten up. Some of these spaces are for people that are ready, and I have to respect that. Hence why my motto is: Stay ready so you don’t have to get ready.

Disclaimer: Depending on where you are on your journey the statement regarding me needing to do more, was either a trigger or you felt it in your soul. Either way both are right.

You can be at a place on your journey where the mer fact that you are doing something is a big deal. You really do deserve a round of applause for your step. A step; no matter the size, is still a step.

I had no idea there was going to be a part 2, but I’m just a small fry on a big journey.

I remember how hard it was for me to do some things, and as I started growing I would celebrate every little thing. However, now that I’ve progressed to yet another level; I understand I can’t drag my feet anymore. My why is different now, I learned this is bigger than me. I have a purpose and I must fulfill it. If you read my previous blog titled “Getting it together”, then you know I know that I need to kick it up a notch; in more ways than one. Just know when you keep going, and keep growing, you get to a point in your journey when you understand your strength, and when you truly understand your strength you start seeing areas in your life that you know in your heart of heart not only can you do more, you know you should be doing more too.

However; DO NOT RUSH TO THAT STAGE. Take your time, learning you, and your levels. Jumping to this level prematurely can be detrimental to your mental health. On the flip side of that, staying on your current level for too long can also be detrimental to your mental health.

My suggestion: Do an inventory in things in your life you want to improve or do. Check out what you are doing towards those goals, then see if there are any areas you feel you are ready to tackle more.

But I said alllll of that to say once again: I wasn’t ready to be invited to this year’s #AmericanSesh but I’m preparing myself for the next AmericanSesh, DubaiSesh, KenyanSesh whatever kind of Sesh God wants me to attend, I’m getting ready now so I can be ready for then.
